Project Title: Improvement works to 3 storey office building.
Project Value: £1,200,000.00
The Brief: The client’s premises were destroyed in the Buncefield Oil Depot explosion in December 2005. A swift relocation was essential so a building 2 miles away was chosen for internal fit out works to bring it to the clients required specification. The works included removals, flooring, partitioning, joinery, suspended ceilings, furniture, plumbing, and extensive M&E alterations.
Key Features: Apton Infinity Glass Partitioning. Complete installation of key services including, Power, Data, Fire & Smoke Alarms, Heating & Ventilation.
Value Added: Given the circumstances that brought about the need for this project, the primary factor was time, and of course closely followed by budget. In order to get this project completed in the shortest possible time HP Contracts took on the role of Main Contractor, with the client nominating their favoured Mechanical and Electrical subcontractors.
With careful planning, committed time and resource management both on site and off site, along with excellent co-operation and co-ordination between all contractors involved, this project was handed over in less than 3 months and within budget.
The Result: High quality office accommodation provided within an extremely demanding programme, therefore minimising the disruption caused by the Buncefield explosion as far as possible.
