Project Title: Toilet Refurbishment Works (part of SME Framework Package 2)

The Brief: To completely strip out and refurbish 6 number toilets which included, asbestos removal (by specialist), flooring, cubicles, vanity units, sanitary ware, suspended ceilings, drainage, plumbing, decoration, accessible WC’s and mechanical & electrical alterations.
Key Features: High specification refurbishment to comply with Hampshire County Council strict requirements and latest legislation. Ambulant disabled cubicle and all associated fittings provided to each toilet. All pipework concealed behind duct sets, all panels and cubicles 13mm solid laminate for outstanding durability and easy cleaning. Work was successfully undertaken during term time.
Value Added: This was the first project undertaken for the HCC Pilot Framework agreement. Initial drawings were provided by the client and a budget costing was duly provided. On receipt of the full specification from the client and firm pricing from Council approved M&E contractors a fixed price for the contract was agreed.
Through excellent cost management, identifying savings on certain items and accurate pricing at the onset of the project, none of contingency fund was required for the original contract. Therefore these funds were used to refurbish an additional toilet within the college with no addition to the contract sum.
The Result: A top quality toilet refurbishment delivered on time and within budget, exceeding the client’s expectations having refurbished an additional room with no rise in the contract sum.
